Organizing Your Makeup Bag - What to Keep and What to Get Rid of

TO TOSS Your pressed powder

TO KEEP Your loose powder .

Yes, the current look is still dewy skin. The wet face is officially over. And what a relief for those of us who don't want to bother with touching up our faces every half hour.

TO TOSS Powder blush

TO KEEP Cream blush.

Cream blush is still the rage , in beautiful cranberry, soft pinky brown and any other color that creates the look you get after a brisk walk in the snow....

TO TOSS Gray, Black, Copper, Burgundy eye shadows

TO KEEP Brown neutral eye shadows .

Get ready to go through your eye shadow collection and dust off these colors that are slanted to be IT for this upcoming season. The new eye looks? Emphasizing the crease is making a big comeback, and soft browns look great applied over the whole eyelid. A great new evening look is soft gray layered with a dusting of irridescent face or body powder.

TO TOSS Glitter

TO KEEP Body and face shimmers.

High impact glitter is out. Soft shimmering powders are in. But not just for the face. For a softer, more elegant look, try the new face and body shimmer powders that can be used on the whole face, highlight the bone structure, collar bone, shoulders, and anywhere else you want attention.

TO TOSS High shine lip gloss

TO KEEP Satins.

Well, gloss is still in, but the lip balm variety. Soft, muted, but not super high volume shine. What's in for lipsticks are the new satin textures that you'll see just about every makeup line coming out with. It seems matte, but with a touch of shimmer to it. Not frost, shimmer. A nice alternative.

TO TOSS Cool colors.

TO KEEP Warm colors

Don't toss the cool shades just yet, they'll be back next summer. Update your looks into fall with a soft light chestnut eye shadow and/or lipstick. And apply shimmer over your neutrals. You'll immediately update your look into the new warms without blowing your budget on alot of colors you may or may not want.
